Best of 2017

Well that one went quickly. It really doesn't seem like any time at all since I was gearing up for 2017's wedding season, and now it's that time again when I reflect on the year behind and get ready for 2018!!  Last year was by far the busiest yet for me - professionally with a full calendar, and personally with a full house!  I am so so lucky to have been chosen and trusted to capture such incredible weddings for such amazing people, I say it every year but I mean it as much each time - so a huge thanks to you all!

As well as photographing weddings in all (nearly) my favourite venues such as Eaves hall, Mitton hall, Browsholme hall, Coltsford mill, The Inn at Whitewell, Stirk house, Bartle hall, and the Shireburn arms -  I've also photographed weddings in some brilliant venues for the first (and hopefully not last) time such as Holmes mill, Falcon manor, the Outbarn, the longbarn, and new house farm up in the lakes, plus a few stunning marquee weddings on farms and a beautiful village called Yardley Hastings... Oh, and a massive Castle in Yorkshire with my very good friend Oli Foxley of 'Foxley photography'

Following the theme of firsts, I was honoured and flattered to photograph my first Indian wedding, definitely one of the years high lights for me and I was so grateful they chose me to do it, knowing I hadn't captured one before. It was the most amazing wedding - so colourful, so much going on, so much fun.  I second shot for the first time for a few photographer pals of mine - Andy Griffiths, Nick Mizon, and Kyle Mclaughlin - one of the weddings with Andy being another first, an amazing Chinese wedding in Manchester.

I was also lucky enough to pick up a few awards last year, starting off with an international 'Wedisson' award, then going on to get 6 'Masters of UK photography' awards, a 'Photographers keeping it real' award and photo of the week, and was a regional finalist for the Wedding Industry Awards.  This year is looking good too as I'm so honoured to have got a 'This is reportage' story award, but that's for next years round up.

Finally, the really big news was the arrival of our beautiful baby girl Olivia (On the morning of a wedding just as wedding season was kicking off!!) so an extra big thanks to my wife Vic for doing such a great job with her and Stan while I've been all over the place with weddings - It's not been easy - and another extra thanks to all the couples for their patience this year as it's taken me a little longer than normal to get their photo's back to them. To all the couples who are getting married this year - I can't wait to be there to capture it all for you, and you'll be pleased to know there are no more kids planned!!

So, if you have 2 minutes spare, please enjoy the slideshow above, and if you have a little longer grab a brew or a wine and check out the images below. Here's to 2018...
